The other half!!

Hello all!! Today was another good day in the sky's over Iraq. We flew a band from VA called The Fuzz Band. Anyone ever heard of them? Anyway this is me in my noble steed.

This is Darren Ramesar,we call him the LBG (little brown guy). He followed me around all day today. We made it a good time. As always!
Christy asked me to post pictures of other things around camp like bathrooms, gym and what have you. This is one of many bathrooms in our POD. Five sinks, five thrones, and Six showers. I had a picture of the showers but Picasa decided to not post it for me. I'll have to get that one to ya later. I gotta hit the hay!! Be safe and take care. Posted by Picasa

in the pink

so this is what i did today! We've had this pink paint since November but I just hadn't gotten to it yet. Today was the day. Shane has his favorite pink spot and now I do too!! Sorry if I'm crass(don't know how to spell it) but that's just the way I am. Thank you everyone for your comments directed at Shane. He is logging into my blog account and uploading and commentating the photos. So did you all see Meg Ryan is going on Oprah Wednesday. She was one of my faves and kind of fell off the map. It will be interesting to see what she says. Have a great Monday everyone~bowling night here! Posted by Picasa

New resident

for my scrapbook room. My friend, Ashlyn, went with a friend to Build-a-Bear in Austin. She saw this and decided I had to have it. Her name is Scrappy Shiek and she belongs to me. She said there were lots more scrapbook items to purchase. How cute is that and how thoughtful. I will display her in my room. Love it! Posted by Picasa

productive...

Ah what a night. Some good Chicken Parmesean. Some good friends. Some creativity. I finished two pages I have due for CKU. One is a recipe swap. I'm waiting on some spoons from 7 Gypsies to arrive to put on my page and then my dorm mate swap. I need to add my photo and I'm done with it. I am back to my normal self..with the help of a one hour massage. I needed it! It's the cure all. She even let me rest on her heated table for ten minutes after the massage. I bought Devin one for her 14th birthday in April. So now my kitchen is a mess with all of my stuff everywhere and that's how it will stay all weekend while I maintain a good level of creativity while listening to some 80's music! Posted by Picasa

Iraq Pics

This is the courthouse where Sadaam and all his cronies are taken.

This is a shot of Dan Eudy and Mike Desmond over downtown Baghdad.I am flying trail with Lucus Abeln.

This is (was) Sadaam's main palace in downtown Baghdad. We call it waterworld.

The "Mother of all Mosques" is a huge landmark we use to navigate around Baghdad. They say it has been under construction for many years.

Dog tags are in! Finally! I ordered them a while ago. I got Tricia's too. These are our name tags for CKU-Chicago. We are the Croppin' Commandos. We are wearing black and white BDU pants, a cool black shirt with pink lettering that says Croppin' Commandos and a pair of scissors on the front. On the back it says CKU-A Chicago/Drop and give me twenty layouts! They are cool. Each teacher is getting there own pair of dog tags as a gift from us. I'm excited about it. I'm excited about my album track. I'm really excited to meet the six women we joined a dorm with. I'm excited to see Vanessa again. I'm excited to see Tricia again. So why does this week suck so bad? I feel like shit. I went in for training this morning. Broke out in hives during warm-up and she sent me off to do some cardio and told me to come back tomorrow. I understand..she just had surgery she needs to stay away from any lepers. I came home. Took my steroids and now I feel like crap. I feel on edge. Like I could snap at any moment. Tricia says steroids do that to you. I hate feeling bad. I should be happy...any advice for me on finding it? After rereading I sound like poor me...I hate that. Posted by Picasa

Wednesday night crew

Wednesday night bowling...the kids used to bowl on Saturday mornings with their league but we can't do that any longer due to Drake's soccer game. Now we pre-bowl every Wednesday for Saturday.

Yesterday I went and got my roots done. While I was there I had a major hive outbreak. I was resisting taking the steroids but went home and took my seven pills. It was a major outbreak. I took a sleeping pill to sleep and boy did I sleep good! When I got up my husband and I had a date on line and then I went to the gym and worked out. Not too hard but an hour none the less.

So here it is 9o'clock at night and no hives today. I'm happy about that. I have training in the morning. I have been thinking lately about my hair. So I need your opinion. I'm thinking of getting some of those chunky highlights. I have never considered this before but I'd like to do something and I was thinking why not that-what do you guys think? I don't really care for DD's highlights-sorry but it's true. The thought has

been growing on me....I'd like to do it for Mexico and if I don't like it I can just change it right. So we'll see. I hope everyone has a great Thursday. I've got some friends coming over Friday for a night of scrappin and I'm getting excited about it. I love to know I'm going to be creative at one point or another-just feels good. Posted by Picasa

for Autumn

I felt dared into doing it...sorry for those of you who don't want to see my BIG white ass! I had to. Don't mind the dimples. Rash was back this morning not as bad as yesterday and I have been up since 2am so I'm feeling silly. Off to get my roots done! Posted by Picasa

Monday, February 20

So I awoke around 430 this morning because my knuckles were itching! I was like what the f&^%? I managed to go back to bed but was just itchy. I showered yesterday around 5. So I knew I wasn't dirty. I got up to head to the gym and was still itching...this was around 8. I look in the mirror and my eyes were almost swollen shut. I looked awful. Then I notice that I had a red rash on my elbows, knees, hands, top of my feet, and a good size welt on my butt. I hoped in the shower, got dressed, and headed to the walk in clinic on base. After about an hour and a half I'm told, "you have hives..I don't know from what...but you have them." So I am to take, and did at lunch, eight pills today, seven tomorrow, six the next day...and so on and so on. He also gave me something for the itch. He said it causes extreme drowsiness so I haven't taken it. I'm real sensitive to that kind of thing and I would sleep and sleep and sleep. I'm still trying to figure out how this happened. It could be the pink shirt. I've never slept in it before but it's very fuzzy and soft and when I wear it I usually put a shirt on underneath it. It is so soft it's irritating. The next option...spider bite on my ass which makes me worried that spider might have had some fun somewhere else. I haven't seen a spider here since last August cos I have someone come spray but it's a thought. Next the doc mentioned stress. I really don't feel stressed. My opinion is the gym is foul. No one really cleans there machine after and I know I leave sweat trails-I now carry a towel-but I just think of it as a cess pool of germs. So right now my hives are gone. I look normal. My eyes are a little puffy but if you don't know me I probably look okay. I feel like shit. I think it's the eight steroid pills I took. Who knows. Found a neat sewing machine but didn't buy it. I'm still thinkin. Have a great Tuesday. Mel if you are reading this on Tuesday-HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Mike-hope your shoulder healing is coming along nicely! Sorry I slipped up on that one-Karma? Posted by Picasa

Homework is done

I can't belive I finished it! With 39 days to go! I'm done with my homework. So for Cathy Z.'s class I had to have two entrys starting from A all the way to Z and one photo to go along with it. My pictures are ordered in 3x3 size and my entries are printed. I feel like an author or something. I spent all day in my pajamas watching the Olympics and the Daytona 500(it's the only nascar race I'll watch all year). I love the template that CZ made for us to follow. It looks so clean. I'm excited to cut it all up and get it together with my pictures. I had an entry for A all the way to Z-I didn't think it was going to happen! YEAH! Now to start my other work. Album cover contest, recipe swap, page of me swap, poster contest-I want to do it all! Have a great Sunday night everyone! Yeah for me! Posted by Picasa

Dinosaur exhibit

Ah too cute! Here we are waiting for three hours for the dinosaur/reptile exhibit that came into town. Lucky for me my son's soccer game was cancelled this morning. We made some chocolate chip cookies and hit the road. I really enjoyed all I learned!

Nice one of me and my daughter-oops my son cut her out of the pic!

Did you know that central Texas once played host to a fifty foot crocodile? I'm not sure I will swim in the lake without thinking of that-forever. So we had a good time. Lots of informative stuff. My friends didn't hang with us as long as we did but I'm from Northern Virginia I'm used to long waits. We had a good time and then hit Ryans for lunch. Not too bad. It was quick, hot food on a cold day. Have a great weekend everyone! Posted by Picasa
