So I awoke around 430 this morning because my knuckles were itching! I was like what the f&^%? I managed to go back to bed but was just itchy. I showered yesterday around 5. So I knew I wasn't dirty. I got up to head to the gym and was still itching...this was around 8. I look in the mirror and my eyes were almost swollen shut. I looked awful. Then I notice that I had a red rash on my elbows, knees, hands, top of my feet, and a good size welt on my butt. I hoped in the shower, got dressed, and headed to the walk in clinic on base. After about an hour and a half I'm told, "you have hives..I don't know from what...but you have them." So I am to take, and did at lunch, eight pills today, seven tomorrow, six the next day...and so on and so on. He also gave me something for the itch. He said it causes extreme drowsiness so I haven't taken it. I'm real sensitive to that kind of thing and I would sleep and sleep and sleep. I'm still trying to figure out how this happened. It could be the pink shirt. I've never slept in it before but it's very fuzzy and soft and when I wear it I usually put a shirt on underneath it. It is so soft it's irritating. The next option...spider bite on my ass which makes me worried that spider might have had some fun somewhere else. I haven't seen a spider here since last August cos I have someone come spray but it's a thought. Next the doc mentioned stress. I really don't feel stressed. My opinion is the gym is foul. No one really cleans there machine after and I know I leave sweat trails-I now carry a towel-but I just think of it as a cess pool of germs. So right now my hives are gone. I look normal. My eyes are a little puffy but if you don't know me I probably look okay. I feel like shit. I think it's the eight steroid pills I took. Who knows. Found a neat sewing machine but didn't buy it. I'm still thinkin. Have a great Tuesday. Mel if you are reading this on Tuesday-HAPPY BIRTHDAY! Mike-hope your shoulder healing is coming along nicely! Sorry I slipped up on that one-Karma?

Wow, that definitely sucks. I'm glad that you are doing better already. Good thing you went to the Dr. Where did you find the sewing machine that you are thinking of buying? To answer your question from earlier regarding "boogie"...it is just something Abe and I have called each other for as long as I can remember. There really isn't any story behind it. I will have to check with him, though, because sometimes my memory sucks.
Oooh, that doesn't sound like fun at all. Good to hear the drugs have cleared it up though.
Just reading this made me get all itchy - I too get hives but not nearly as bad as eyes swollen shut - my hives just get red, rashy & blotchy.
Hope it was a one time thing & that the medicine works.
Thanks for the Birthday wishes!
Glad you are feeling better! Luckily, you decided not to take a picture of your ass! :o)
Take care of yourself!
