Shane fought the vine....

and the vine won! Last year we had two flowers from this vine. I think one of my first blog posts was a picture of the beautiful purple flower, well it's back. I was so mad at him for pulling what he called a "weed" out of our bush bed. It was our only flower and got there naturally so I just wanted to leave it be. He yanked it out before I knew what he was doing. Well, it is here again and I will let it grow and grow and grow.

We have done nothing lately. Nothing that I feel I have to report. We've been busy with house work. Yesterday Devin washed the cars, Drake mowed the grass, and I weed-eated the yard. I really like the weed-eating part. I put on my I-Pod and go to town. I'm excited for Brittany to come up tomorrow. The house is clean and all ready for her. I just have to go get some stuff to grill. I was thinking lots of grilled veggies. Yum! I also need to pick up some umbrellas for our rum filled drinks. Shane will be home in less than thirty days and that has consumed my thoughts. I can't stop thinking about seeing him naked. I'm sorry, but it's true. I'm obsessed! Oh I have to tell you I feel I have lost any mojo I thought I had. No feelings on the scrapbook side. I go in my room and look around. I can't seem to sit and do any. I'm really going to try and do some today. Anyone else feel that way?

listen here...

Okay first off I'm going to share some serious stuff. Everyone knows my mom passed away a few years ago. Almost eight. She had colon cancer. By the time they caught it, it had spread all over her abdominal cavity and there was nothing to do but make her comfortable. Her colon was almost completely obstructed and they couldn't believe she had no signs or symptoms. I have to disagree that she had no signs or symptoms when her colon was almost completely obstructed. I would say it was something she chose to ignore. I don't know this for sure but I saw a picture of her cancer in her colon and there was no way for her to poop just about. Well since then I have become a little anal when it comes to my health. Any little thing and I'm at the doctors. Heartburn will even cause me to head to the doc's office. I've lied about family history to have a colonoscopy. Every year I'm at the GYN getting an exam. I hate it but I call it "preventable medicine". And, in todays world of health, I'm sorry but, I just don't think we're into too much preventitive medicine. Our pets get more preventitive medicine than we do. True. So I want you all to read my new friend Jessica's blog. If it's been over that year well I want you in there! I'd also appreciate it if you all left her a nice message!
I hate to move onto another topic but XMen III-best movie I've seen all year. Love it. Over The Hedge-boring. Rent it unless you have nothing else to see with the little ones and want to. XMen III-blown away. Would go watch it again right now if it were free. If your wondering if that pencil has a penis on the end-it does. =)

yum!

don't these brownies look delicious. They are not even cooked yet. I added some caramel and praline crunch on top. Today is the kids last day of school so I thought a special treat was in order. Especially since my son got commendable on his Math Taks test and my daughter got commendable on her English Taks test. She was very close to commendable on her history Taks too. So proud of them. It's been a rough year but they performed with flying colors. When they get home we'll be off to see Over The Hedge. I don't think I'll ever refuse an animated film. Love them. Saturday Brittany is driving down to visit and I can't wait. I have found a new drink I want to try out on her and I will share the recipe here. It's so good! Have a happy Thursday! Posted by Picasa

AI

okay..I'm watching tonight. I just sat down and here it is. AI time. It's the finale I know.

Can you believe Clay Aiken???? What the?
got a cut. I love it. She was a little nervous because our men are coming home around the same time and didn't want me to do anything drastic but I love it. It's not a great photo. The kids had come home from school and had all kinds of news and the last thing they wanted to do was take my picture. Have a great one ya'll...I'm off to swim some laps. Posted by Picasa
don't i look sassy...this is the best photo i have of me with the short haircut, which is making me wonder if it's for me or not. I will be taking it in to my girl to see. I look young don't I? I swear Tricia is like Dick Clark....she hasn't aged a bit. Jealous.

Thanks to Kristin and Stephanie they let me know the name of the store and sent me the phone number so I called Memories & Beyond! They have what I wanted in stock and they are called Sarah Binders I bought a few packs in case I lose them again. I'll probably find them now that I have ordered new ones.=( owell. they're nice. hello

I joined a montly carstock subscription and I love it! This is my first shipment and so far so good. A friend of mine also joined and she didn't care for two of the colors so they swapped them out for her. How nice. I have never seen some of the textures. I didn't know what I was missing and wish I had known about it long ago. I had always bought one brand one texture but now I see there is a whole other cardstock world out there. I have a question for everyone. When I was in Minneapolis I bought some of EK Success' little notebook paper. I made a layout with it and loved it but now I cannot find it anywhere. I have gone through everything I own just for this notebook paper and it seems to have grown legs and walked off. Maybe it didn't like my handwriting. Do you know where I can get some? I'm desperate. I don't want to go buy a mini spiral album of notebook paper either. I want that one. HELP! Today just organizing my scrap room and getting a hair cut. I'm thinking of going short. I believe I'm gonna do it. I miss my short hair and am going to bring in some pics to see if she can recreate a hair cut I had in 1998. What do you think? The kids get out of school on Thursday and I can't wait. X-Men III starts this weekend! Looks good! Posted by Picasa

he's gone...

Just the 3 of us again. I really enjoyed my brother's visit and am hoping this month flies by because Shane will be coming home from Iraq on or about the 27th of June!!! Yeah! I am so excited! We've known he's coming home sometime in the summer but when you don't have a date you can't count it down but we now have his R&R time and I'm so ready.
The kids get out of school on Thursday. I love it when they are on summer break and just hope it doesn't mess up my gym schedule. I get up when they do and as soon as they get on the bus I'm out the door for the gym...here's to not getting a little lazy.

Thanks Mikey for the awesome visit! I love that you are my brother..I couldn't ask for a better one! And ladies...he is single! Isn't he cute....and he has impecable taste, loves to travel, is 30, and he's nice......Julie B. if your reading this I still believe you'd make beautiful babies with my brother! Posted by Picasa

Sunday, May 21

do you see a family resemblence? I've been saying for years that Dev has my brother's feet and now I've got proof!

Last night we hung out at Cosmic Bowling. It was from 12-2 and it was fun. I did great but my brother was the overall winner. Then we hit Jack N The Box for a little late night snack. We got up, packed a cooler, and hit the lake. Luckily for us a friend of mine showed up with her boat and took us out.

Shane got word that he's coming home around the 25th-27th of June...I am so ready and hope he doesn't get bumped...we might be able to make our scheduled vacation afterall! Loving it. So, keep your fingers crossed for us!

I have lots of blogging to catch up on. My bro leaves tomorrow afternoon and he wants to hit the gym with me...can't wait to give him my type of workout! Have a great Monday!

Iraqi Shamal!!

Sorry it has been a while, just doing the same ole thing here. These are pics of a Shamal (dust storm) minutes away from Taji. Needless to say it left things a mess. Opening my door to come or go would leave a mist of sand in the air! Never seen anything quite like it.

This is at the flight line minutes after it hit. Took a few hours for the dust to settle.

Well all, take care. And thanks for the continued support. Posted by Picasa

all these pics were taken today at Putt-Putt...I've been waiting for weeks to head over there cos I knew the lighting was right and the wall color is so vibrant that it would take great photos...plus the shade!

You can see who is the Putt-Putt Champ! Posted by Picasa
